About Kattutharai
A Tamil-first livestock classifieds app for Tamil Nadu — built so farmers can buy and sell from home, in the language they speak, without paying a middleman.
Our mission
Tamil Nadu has one of the most active livestock economies in India, but the tools that reach farmers are either English-only, generic classifieds, or social media groups. We are building the version that actually fits the farmer — Tamil by default, location-aware, free to post, and simple enough to use on a low-end phone.
Who we’re for
Kattutharai is designed for and tested with:
- Farmers selling cows, buffalo, goats, and other livestock from their own farm.
- Buyers looking for animals within 25–500 km of their home district.
- Small traders and brokers who want more reach than word-of-mouth.
What Kattutharai is not
We are a classifieds platform, not a marketplace operator. We do not buy, sell, transport, or hold payment for any animal. Buyers and sellers negotiate directly and meet in person to complete the sale. The only money Kattutharai ever receives is for optional listing-visibility boosts.
Based in Coimbatore
Kattutharai is built and operated from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The product is small and focused — a tight roadmap, fast feedback loops, and conversations directly with the farmers who use it.
