Terms of Service — Kattutharai

These terms govern your use of the Kattutharai mobile app (the “App”). By creating an account or posting a listing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What Kattutharai is

Kattutharai is a listing and introduction platform for livestock trading in Tamil Nadu. Sellers post listings. Buyers browse listings and contact sellers directly. We are not a party to the transaction between buyer and seller. We do not inspect animals, verify claims, collect or disburse payments for the sale itself, or guarantee any outcome.

Boost plans are a separate paid service from us, for increased listing visibility.

2. Your account

You must be 18 years or older to use Kattutharai.
You must provide an accurate mobile number you control. OTP-based login relies on this.
You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Do not share your phone number’s SMS access with anyone.
One account per person. Duplicate accounts may be removed.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if we detect fraud, or if required by law.

3. Listings — what you may post

You may post livestock that you legally own and have the right to sell. Listings must:

Be truthful about the animal’s age, breed, weight, and condition.
Use your own photos of the actual animal. Stock or stolen photos are not allowed.
Set a clear, final price in Indian Rupees.
Be posted in the correct category (cow, bull, buffalo, goat, sheep, etc.).

What you may not post

Stolen animals, or animals without clear ownership.
Animals protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 or any state or central law.
Products derived from banned species (ivory, pangolin, etc.).
Animals being sold for ritual slaughter in violation of local law.
Drugs, performance enhancers, or veterinary products requiring a prescription.
Non-livestock items.
Content that harasses, defames, or discriminates against any person or community.
Content that infringes on someone else’s copyright, trademark, or privacy.

We remove violating listings at our discretion. Repeat violations result in account termination.

4. Your conduct

When using the App you must not:

Scrape, crawl, or automate access to listings or user data.
Attempt to bypass security controls, RLS policies, or payment verification.
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
Use the chat to spam, phish, or solicit money for purposes unrelated to a listing.
Coordinate illegal activity, including but not limited to smuggling animals across state borders without required permits.

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, permanent ban, and reporting to law enforcement where appropriate.

5. Boost plans (paid service)

Boost plans increase the reach of your listing for a fixed period in exchange for a one-time payment.
Payments are collected by Razorpay on our behalf. We are the merchant of record for the boost service.
Refunds: Boost payments are non-refundable once the boost has been activated on the listing. If the boost fails to activate due to a technical error on our side, we refund in full within 7 business days.
Prices are shown in INR inclusive of taxes.
We may change boost pricing with 30 days’ notice in-app.

6. Transactions between buyers and sellers

Any payment, delivery, inspection, or transfer of ownership of the animal happens between you and the counterparty, outside the App.
We strongly recommend meeting in person, inspecting the animal, and verifying ownership before paying.
We are not responsible for losses arising from failed transactions, misrepresentation by the other party, or disputes over the animal’s condition after sale.
Use the Report feature to flag suspicious listings or behaviour. We review every report.

7. Our content

The app, brand, logo, design, code, and database schema are our property. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute them.
The listings you post remain your property. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display your listing within the App and in App-related marketing for the period your listing is active.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant:

That the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
That listings are accurate, lawful, or honest.
That a transaction between you and another user will be successful.

To the maximum extent permitted under Indian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profit, lost goodwill, or the cost of substitute services.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account.
On deletion, your profile, listings, favorites, and chats are permanently removed within 30 days.
We may terminate your account immediately for violation of these terms, fraud, or illegal activity.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, unless local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us at support@kattutharai.com — most issues can be resolved informally within 30 days.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance.
